| I have an 08 crf250r . I need some help . My tranny is getting water in it .my tattletail on my water pump isnt leaking. I was wondering if my headgasket leaks culd it leak into my tranny or wuld it leak into the motor oil. |

| More than likely the inner oil seal is failing. That is the seal in the case/side cover that keeps coolant out of the tranny. On the inner side of the impellor. Some great articles in the "How to" section here to guide you through the repair. |

| Thats the same thing I thout too. My local honda shop told me since my weep hole wasnt leaking it was prolli my head gasket. I jst ddnt know if my head gasket was bad if it culd even leak into my tranny and not my motor oil. Im jst getn water in my tranny. |

Check out the "how to" section. If you are reasonably handy with tools you should have not problem. There is always people here on CRF's very willing to help guide you thorough it.
It is really not too tough. Ken has everything you need to order. Water pump rebuild kit is what I believe it is called. |

| Yea I know its not bad to replace the water and oil seals. it jst made me thnk about it when the local shop told me it was the head gasket . I jst wasnt sure if the head gasket wuld even leak in the tranny. |

There is no way for a head gasket leaking to find its way into the transmission. A blown head gasket could get coolant to the engine oil and / or the engine oil get into the coolant but not the trans.
Ken will fix you up with the parts you need. Caution: when taking the seals out of the case. Do not just go at it with a drift & hammer - bad things happen....

Thanx . Ive already got the seals orderd. I ddnt thnk it culd b the head gasket.
Not the first time the shop round here has been wrong. |
