Hi guys,

I am changing my piston, got my piston all in ok but went to double check the valve clearances and the right inlet valve has 0 clearance. All the others are fine. Any ideas?

Bikes 04 ish CRF450.

Thanks

Did you check what the clearance was before the rebuild? If you did and before the rebuild they were fine, is it possible you got your shims mixed up?

Yeh they were ok. Sarting to think that maybe ive got the cam in the wrong position. When its at TDC, the cam faces backwards. Is that just after the de comp lever or before? When you have the cam off it turns freely then just activates the de comp then normal again. When getting the cam back on, bikes at TDC, is cam before the de comp activation or after?

use the TDC markers on the cam sprocket and crankshaft punch marks with cam lobes facing to the rear to find TDC. as mentioned it's either the shims were mixed up or you aren't at TDC.
