| Is there any way to drop a 230 motor in a 150f, if so what modifications/parts are needed? I already have a 150f. |

How about a 230 crank in the 150 with a 230 top end (piston, cylinder, valves . . .) anyone know if this would work? Then I would have a 5 speed 230, just what im looking for! |

What year bikes are we talking? Yes generally speaking the 230 engine will bolt right into the 150 frame using the 230 upper engine mount. The 230 cylinder is taller than the 150 cylinder. You would also need the wiring harness and the battery/airbox from the 230.
Yes the crank and top end will bolt right onto the 150 bottomend. Again the 230 top mount issue. The 5 speed 230 sounds appealing but now you have an even worse issue with suspension: more power less suspension to soak up the terrain.
If you are talking pre 06 150 you have the added benefit of a kick start 230 minus the starter and battery weight. Mike Coe makes a beefier kick start gear suggested with this modification
If you have an 06 or later 150, Engines Only makes a 225 kit that is supposed to be really good.
Others have done the swap. Do a google searchon the project for more detailed info.

Thanks for the info! The suspension isnt much of a problem I have a works shock and bbr springs in the front, which do the job. Im looking at buying stock parts before bbks because of the added reliablilty. And the airboxes and batteries wont work with both, and will I need a bigger carb?
Thanks |
