Mike...please don't take offense as none is intended. if you are are struggling with removing the clutch cover or struggling with the decision to remove the clutch cover i recommend you have this service performed by a qualified shop as this installation gets much more complicated than removing the clutch cover.

Oh I wasn't struggling with that I was just comparing it to the service manual and it doesn't show removing it in the service manual. I ordered the kit from you and did not order a new clutch cover gasket. I've rebuilt several engines from the bottom up and this is simple compared to splitting cases.

oh ok. you had me going there! ;) here's a trick when removing the clutch cover. slightly loosen the clutch cover bolts, hold the cover in place and lightly tap the perimeter of the clutch cover. in most cases this will allow you to remove the cover with the o-ring in the cover. this can save a lot of time when reinstalling. for those who have installed the clutch cover gasket you know what i'm talking about.

I just removed my right case cover and on my 07 250R I did not have to remove the clutch cover. Maybe that's a 450 thing. Thanks again for the great write-up, this is my first time for this particular job.
