Injection don't rely give more power. It's more a fluid constant power. Also make it easier to start. But on my 2010 250R, when I open the throtle my bike response a little too fast for technical section you can find in the wood.

Is there a kit you know of to put it in my bike?
Any suggestions in how to build power?

A lot of times fuel injection actually mellows the power. A finely tuned carb will get you max power without fuel injection. Get the JD Jetting kit and you will be well taken care of.

I really cant believe you are looking for more power out of your 450X. 99% of people cant use all the power of a 250X let alone a 450X. That being said maybe instead of increasing power you should work on suspension and other components that allow you to use the power you have and get it to the ground.

Most pros run 450 engines without doing much to increase the power of them. Its more about handling and putting the power to the ground. If you are to the point as a rider where you really are using all of the available power of a 450X, you wouldnt need to be on here asking how to get more...

Welcome to CRF's Only Joe.

EFI does not exist in a kit or otherwise for the 450X. It's not really feasible to retrofit either and hence no kit.

Most of the time when someone with a 450X is asking for "more power" I find their 450X isn't really running correctly. If it is still completely stock as it was on the showroom floor then I agree, you need more power. As Matt mentioned the getting the carb dialed in, airbox opened up, backfire screen eliminated will wake up your motor and make it more responsive off-idle. If you have already done these and need more power then mention where you want more power, down low, mid range, or top end. There is a lot that can be done to the X head, piston, and cam to move and increase the power.

Again, welcome.

Ken

Lol, the wheel only spins so fast! I say get good suspension work done so the wheel is on the ground and making power. That I think would make most people a lot happier than pistons and heads etc.

The wheel can only make power when its on the ground not bouncing around thru the air. And, you can only go so fast with poor suspension set up no matter how fast your bike is...

I guess I just am a little jealous, cause my 250X makes all the power I need. If you can out ride your 450X after its jetted and opened up, you are a better man than I...

I do use all the power, I'm not a track rider I ride trails, maybe I'll try the suspension work. It's been done but for a different rider so I'll have it fixed. I only ask just to see if anyone knows any thing besides head, cam things like that and I always thought fuel injection is awesome! I'm thinking of upgrading to a new fuel injected crf and doing the work to it. I just didn't want to over invest into this bike when I'll probably upgrade in a year or so.

For trails you probably use less of the power than on the track, most people use bottom end and the first 1/2 to 3/4 of the throttle on the trail. Very few people are bouncing off the rev limiters on single track. If you are gonna ride like that, I'd suggest getting a two stroke.

Honda CRFX's are great for the trail. Suzuki does not really make a good trail bike. They have a good motocross bike, but it would take a lot of work to get it trail ready, just like the CRFR series by Honda. Honda (crfx), Yamaha (wr), and KTM are the only ones of the Big 5 that make very good trail bikes. I am not one to tell people what to do, but you are in for a lot of work to get a CRF450R trail ready just for fuel injection. You can get the 450X carb tuned very well without fuel injection... If you want it that bad though, have fun. It'll be a project!

The trails I ride are clear old roads that have grown up and are all dirt now and most have hill climbs and jumps thoughout them so I ride in 3rd though corners and things about 1/2 throttle but I pin the bike all the way through the rest. Specially on the hill climbs and leading up to the jumps. So I think an R would suffice. I would like more power out Of the crfX though for when I enduro race occasionally.

Cool, fuel injection wont get it for you though. If you want more power out of the X you gotta go cams and heads and pistons and all of that jazz. Fuel injection, even if it were available for the X, wouldnt get you more power. You can go the R route if thats what you want but I would think a 450X would work well for you...

A lot of people just throw in the R head and cam. I dont have a ton of knowledge on this as my bock is pretty stock internally.

the '07-08 R head, port and polish, full titanium valves with high performance seats and guides, cam options are many from the '02 R to the '08 R cam to after market cams. increase the piston compression ratio as well. behind this you'll have to go into the bottom end to get more performance.

new ignition will make a big improvement also.
