I put a Rekluse z start pro in my bike last night. I have a 2006 CRF250x.
When I did the step with the wire gauges, they would not slip in. So that means I have it adjusted correctly.
The kit comes with an additional steel drive plate for adjusting once the friction plates wear in.
My question is:
1. Where do you stack the thicker steel drive plate in the clutch pack ONCE THE CLUTCH PACK NEEDS ADJUSTMENT?
2. What are folks using for oil on the tranny side with the Rekluse. I have read about people using Rotella diesel engine oil. If so- what weight, and how much more to add to the tranny side.
Thanks-
Matt

The thicker drive plate would go on at the top of the last friction plate an before you place the hub portion of the rekluse on.
Rotella is what Rekluse recommends for their product. Use 15w40. I have been using Rotella with great results. |

I looked at the manual and it says to:
If the wire gauges slide in smoothly, the
clutch pack needs adjustment. Swap the
thick Rekluse adjustment drive plate for
the top drive plate. Repeat step 33.
So it would go BELOW the outermost friction plate under the pressure plate. From the outside of the bike
pressure plate
friction disk
DRIVE PLATE (this one gets swapped)
friction disk
ETC...
Thanks for the recomendation about the Rotella. I'm taking the bike out tomorrow to break it in. |

Yea you are right sorry, the friction plate should be the last thing before you put the pressure plate on. Sorry for the confusion I don't know what I was thinking.
The only bad thing about the Rotella T oil is you have to stay on top of oil changes in the transmission. The Rotella is great oil but turns black pretty quick. Rotella is pretty cheap though.
Good luck! You will love the rekluse. |

Did the break in as per the instructions, then went for a 20 min spin through some really technical terrain. Now I know what everyone has been raving about.
It's like cheating. Works as advertised! I have a race on Sat, can't wait to try it out at race pace.
Since our race series has a contingency program, I got a coupon for a deep discount for taking 1st place in one of the races. Even after 20 minutes of test riding, I'd still pay full price.
Cheers- |

Welcome to the Rekluse club. I'm pretty upset at them at the moment. I just got off the phone with them and they won't have a clutch for my wifes new 2010 CRF250R for another 6 weeks or more. After riding with a Rekluse for 6 years you really miss it when it's not there. She just wants to ride her 06 till her new bike gets a Rekluse. _________________ There are old racers
