    Fuel screw on 07 X

    by 82911sc » Thu Aug 02, 2007 2:16 pm

I can't get the original fuel screw out of an 07 X. My 05 had a screwdriver slot to adjust and or remove. The 07 just has one side of the fuel screw thats flat. Probably an easy solution I just can't figure it out.

    Dan,

The stock fuel screw is removed using this tool with a 1/4"socket.

    $2.90 Part # 08-0242 BIT, D-SHAPE F/USE WITH 08-0229

I have heard of someone's success using a red electrical splice crimp connector to remove it. Bang it into place and twist out with pliers. Don't know that one for sure, but remember reading about it.

I have that socket, and I'm in your neighborhood almost every weekend. I just cant get enough of Maria Bonitas!! I'll be up there early saturday picking up a couple of buddies for a weekend @ Isabella. Let me know if you want to meet up, I dont mind passing it on, just so long as you give it to the next guy in need ;)

Thanks to ~ I used a 22-18 AWG (red) splice heated with a heat gun. It slipped right on and when it cooled I unscrewed the stock fuel screw.

Elmo450x, if that offer still stands, I could really use that little socket for my wife's 450R quad. I would be happy to return it in short order or pass it on to the next rider in need. I live right nearby in Simi Valley. I am in Chatsworth many times during the week. 8)

Don't know. Its a tool that only gets used once for most people. Why NOT pass it along? :?

Its not the fact that its a $3 tool, its now that my stock screw is out, I'll never need it again....

Alex(Joe), hit me up on the cell and I'll give you the socket.... 818 355 9940
