i picked up a new 2017 250L early this year with the intention to ride mostly trails, enduro style, but told the dealer i would like to drive to the trails, so i ended up with this 250L. Needless to say, as many of you know, this bike is SERIOUSLY underpowered.
I have considered trading/selling the bike, instead of putting more $$ into it, but either way i'm gonna lose!
So, i'm looking for some advice...do i love the one i'm with, put some $$ into a performance package, maybe change the battery to drop some additional weight, etc. OR do i cut my losses and switch to a "real" enduro bike. Any more $$ i put into this bike i will not get back if i do sell it, so i'm at the tipping point here...keep it stock, ride it, or spend more to see if i can get some more fun out of it.
The trails i'm riding are moderately technical, lots of rocks, roots, tree stumps, mud, sand, etc. I'm a previous mountain biker, so i can handle the singletrack without too much trouble.
What i really want to know is if someone else has noticed a significant increase in power on the trails when they went with either the FMF or Yosh performance package along with the EJK?? I've changed to the 13t front sprocket and 42 rear, which helps lower the gearing to get around technical trails nicely in 2nd gear. I'm not interested in seeing performance gains in the upper speed range, which i'm worried is the only benefit i'll get from the performance package?!
Any help greatly appreciated!
