by marks crf » Tue Aug 19, 2008 3:34 am

hi, my first bike was a pw50 then like 3 months later i out powered and pushed the little pw50 to its limit (i was only 5!!!) then i got an 1993 kawasaki kx60 which was the best mini bike i ever had it was so big back then and fast that i broke my arm twice   and could nearly clear a 25ft double hey back then a jump that size was massive to me at the age of 6
the good old days i miss riding my kx60  at least i know my cousin has it and i can ride it when i go to his house    and he takes care of it :D

so what was your fist bike?

My first bike was a XR 80r to a CRF 150f then to a CRF 230f. I grew up riding my brothers old bike and then got my own 2006 CRF 250x.

1970 Red CT70... $325 OTD brand new from Honda. Not very many choices at that time for kids. Either the Honda 50 or 70. Local dealers didn't carry much for a while... I think Harley had a 60cc Leggero or something that was more of a road bike and was too big.

Then stuff started showing up everywhere. Yamaha came out with a JT1 60cc Mini Enduro in '71 (only one of the front forks had a spring)... Honda SL models 70, 100 & 125... Penton 125 or Hodaka Combat Wombat was the shnitz at the time... around here anyway...

Yep that looks like it - except is was red

Rode it for a while then used the motor in a mini bike I built at high school - had 3 gears and a manual clutch - 2 stroke of course ... noisy and smelly but went suprisingly well

    A 1974 Suzuki TS100L.

Taught my boy to ride on it after pulling it out of the shed 20 years later and it started 2nd kick.

Arghh the smell of two stroke oil in the morning.
