    crf150rb leaking oil

    by crfrider92 » Tue Apr 07, 2015 2:07 pm

I recently bought a new 2014 crf150rb and just changed the oil a little under 2 hrs on the motor. After i was done i warmed it up and right when i put it in gear it stalled and i heard a noise by the engine oil filler cap and large amounts of oil came out of the airbox so it had to be the transmission breather tube. I ran it earlier for 10 mins and it rode fine but continued to leak oil. I am not sure what happened and im new to 4 stroke race machines therefore have little experience with them. Also how often should i chamge the oil and filter if im just trail riding

Welcome to CRF's Only and congrats on your new ride. Check the oil levels. Remember there are two oil compartments (motor side and trans side). Make sure you didn't over fill it. Also, if you happened to oil your air filter this could be the issue. If the filter is not dried properly before installation excess oil will run off out of the air box drain. Verify what oil is actually leaking to determine if it is air filter oil or motor oil. Good luck!
