    04 CR85R Service Manual/Clutch Torque Specs

    by steakcrf77 » Thu Oct 21, 2010 1:52 pm

I am going to be changing the clutch out with a new clutch I got. I need to know any torque specs for the clutches/springs,or anything else that I may come across. I plan to order a manual or find one used, but I need to do this work before the end of the month (Gorman trip on Halloween).

If anyone has a used manual they want to part with please let me know. Thank you! -Steak

So it appears there is no Clymer manual for the CR85. Does anyone have experience with the Online only manuals? $20 for a year and $40 for life, single manual only. Please advise.

I do have the clutch cover off, the clutch springs removed and now there is 1 center bolt. I hear it takes an impact to remove it.

My question is, is this bolt threaded left (reverse) or regular?

Some people have mentioned that the bolt head strips and to have a replacement ready. Any one with some for sure knowledge?

    It is regular thread.

It is on at 43 ft/lbs.

You must have a clutch holder tool or the hub will just spin.

Impacts work well, but not necessary.

Come by if you need the holder tool, but you must bring back same day as I use them regularly.

Thanks Agent, you are the Man! I'll let you know if I need the tool. I called the Stealership and they don't have the manual in stock. I bit the bullet and signed up with CyclePedia for a lifetime CR80/85 all model manual. I had some other "issues" with the bike and Allyn has some with his so I guess that will have to be our solution. Thanks again!
