    Hesitation Around 4500-5000 rpms

    Hi guys,

Have a 2007 CRF 450R(38 hours)and just installed a Tusk adjustable fuel screw(seated and then backed out 2 full turns)and filled the tank with some new VP Small Engine Ethanol free 94 octane fuel.Bike ran perfect before the new fuel screw(original fuel screw was 2 turns out)and VP gas but now has a hesitation between 4500-5000 rpms.Started on the 4th kick and ran it around the neighborhood for about 10 minutes to run some of that good gas through the carb when I first noticed it(never noticed it before),anyone have any idea as to what could be causing it and a possible remedy?

    Thanks,
    Jeff

The rule of thumb is always to undo the last thing you did and see if the condition goes away.
Having said that, a fuel screw only affects off-idle throttle response, not 4-5000 RPM.

Thanks, good advice bro.I've only put 3 hours on the bike since I bought it,mostly at a faster pace than just cruising around like I did yesterday and could have always been there but just drove through it without noticing it.Seemed to run smooth from idle to around 4500 rpms and from 5000 rpms on up,just that little glitch between 4500-5000.Will take it out today and try it again.
