welcome to CRF's Only. don't use carb cleaner as it can damage the rubber bits in the carb. here's a great how-to from dirt rider:

    http://www.dirtrider.com/tech/141_0707_ ... ewall.html

follow it carefully and your carb should be ready to run again. keep in mind some things may need to be replaced such as the floating valve seal, jets (very difficult to clean if they are clogged), o-rings, etc.

    good luck,

Here's some how-to's for the carb with a bit more detail for these areas:

I read a post online where someone said to be careful shooting compressed air through the slow air jet circuit. Apparently the slow air jet has a delicate honeycomb structure in it that can be damaged. I don't know this firsthand, but thought it was worth mentioning.

I inspected the slow air jet from my '07 X and didn't see any sort of structure inside. Just a straight-through hole.

Yeah, I never heard of this either. If their is such a thing in the circuit, the carbs I have worked on were relieved of it after I blew the crap out of them. I use about 15 lbs of pressure with the carb dissembled.
