    Guys, this thread may be old, but using o-rings and silicone sealant has worked great for my KX. And, it is a little on the rich side too.

    yupz, it is old, but i do not use WD40, because it did cause rust, instead GT85.

    Yes, it will dry out the o-rings and make them crack. I never spray WD-40 directly on an O-ring chain to clean it. I spray it on a rag and run the chain through the rag until its clean. Then I spray it with chain lube.


    I disagree with this 100%. Been using WD40 on all of my street bikes and dirt bikes for years. I have a couple of street bike that have chains well over 20k miles on them and are older than 8 years and there is little to no wear or stretch or o-ring issues. Same goes for the Dirt chains.
