Have owned both long term. No problem with either, just aesthetics. I find the volcano on the Clarke unsightly, nothing more.

I have had a Clarke on my 05 X since day 1 practically. No issues other than others seem to hate it. I love the fact it holds lots of gas and I can see thru it so I know when to stop for fuel again. I am still shocked so many people have to point out its ugly. I thought society was more tollerant and politicaly correct.

I have the Clark on my '06 450x. I use the stock OEM Honda cap. No issues at all. In fact, guess i'm the only one ? - I like the look.

I never noticed the "volcano" until this tread, and still don't think it looks bad. For me the shape of the tank takes a little pressure off the legs when braking hard - stops me from sliding into the bars without putting the death grip on the shrouds.

I had an IMS desert tank on my 98 YZF400. I loved it! It was great because it felt the same as the stock tank between my knees. The newer IMS tanks look a little bulkier. Anyone have a comparison to how they feel versus the stock tank? Either Clarke or IMS?

I've had both and personally prefer the fit of the IMS tanks over the Clarke tanks. IMS is also a great company to deal. The very few times there's been an issue with a tank they have made it right without any questions.
