    17 250l gearing

    by davberb » Tue Mar 27, 2018 5:35 pm

just bought the bike today and looking to do the gearing mod, i plan on being very evenly 50-50 on off road and from different posts and videos i have seen it looks like 13 tooth front and 42 tooth rear is perfect. my question is how many link chain to get ?

    Congrats on your new ride!

The stock chain and chain adjuster will work with the 13/42.

do you think the 13/42 is a good ratio? i only need the bike to do highway speed so around 70ish and want to do a lot of woods riding ... should i go 13t 45t?

I stopped making gearing recommendations after do so for a rider named Goldilocks. ;-) We have a gearing/rpm/speed calculator to help you determine the best final drive gearing compromise for you.

thank you very much! in my opinion it looks like i will be at a very high rpm doing highway speed with a 13-45 gear ratio. i'm going to start with a 13-42 to be more conservative, and retain stock chain
