Made it home from Cal City just in time to turn on the TV and watch Kemp's diving catch!

Pretty good game for an opener.....even if it was S.D.

Let's see what Wolf has for 5 million!

By the way, what do you think of Martin adding the "J" to his jersey?

It was "just the Padres" who are picked to be last in the NL West BUT it was Jake Peavy who they have only beaten once in 2006 or something. Peavy is tough. Kemp was definately the player of the game with that catch that saved potentially 3 or 4 runs and the 430 yd homer to straight away center field was amazing. The funniest thing to me was the only hole in the lineup last night was Manny

Wolf will do good tonight. No worries IMO
The one to watch will be James McDonald in the #5 spot, he was amazing last year coming out of the pen. Lindeblom too if they call him up.

The J on the jersey is to represent his mom and he's canadian and they use both their parents last names or something so whatever.
If it makes him happy and a better hitter / catcher then I'm all for it

That was all part of Manny's plan....

...he's going to lead the team in stolen bases and Peavy was just getting him off to a good start!

Ethier will have the hot hand according to Mr. Ramirez, but I'm thinking now that Kemp can see who knows what can happen.

    very cool

I'd say he can't afford to ride when a get off would cost him his job but Jeff Kent was an avid rider (although caring about baseball wasn't Kent's strong suit)
