    Fuel/Air Mix Adjustment

    by studawg66 » Mon Sep 26, 2011 9:07 am

Does anyone have a good procedure for adjusting the fuel/air mix on a 2004 CRF50? If not, what position should I start in now that I have completely cleaned the thing out? It was about 3/4 turn out before I disassembled and seemed to run okay (had to take it apart for another reason...bad float needle caused flooding), but I would really like to "tune it in" as best I can to prolong spark plug life and that sort of thing.
    Any tips are appreciated!

Short and simple is in until a little stumble. Out until a little stumble then between the two settings should be just about right.

Some people just go in until in stumbles a little then back out until it is smooth.

    Hope that helps a little.

Thanks, Neil, that helps a great deal. I'll keep that in mind when I get it put back together.
I guess I should also do this when the engine is warm, correct?
