    100 will not run right

    by Hondacrfrider » Sat Sep 17, 2011 5:19 pm

today, my sister just got a used 2009 100. the bike has very low hours on it and its only been ridden 2 times(or atleast thats what the owner said). anyways it looks great and it has no boot rub at all. the problem is that it boggs alot when you go past 1/4 throttle, it back fires alot, and it takes too long to return to idle. the previous owner let it sit for a long time so i'm thinking that taking it to a mechanic to get the carburetor cleaned will fix all of the problems. also, the air filter was pretty dirty so when i put a new one on, will that help? what do you guys think? and i already drained out all of the old gas and put fresh gas in

did you drain the fuel bowl its most likely an old fuel problem when left sitting it may have a blocked jet or damaged any rubber parts in the carb take carb of and clean and inspect check for air leaks perished rubber boots it sounds likely to be an easy fix also you could lube your throttle cable not sure what type of carb this bike has
    over 40 still ridin hard
    still learning

yeah, i drained all of the gas out of the tank and out of the carb. do you really think that a ruber part in the carb could be damaged cansidering how new the bike is? and the ruber intake boot looks like it is brand new.

Pull the carb and give a good cleaning. The pilot jet is probably clogged.
